When it comes to throwing birthday parties for our kids – we want them to be as unique and special as they are.
If that time of year has rolled around and it’s time to start the party planning, let us do the creative thinking for you. We’ve got some tried and tested ideas guaranteed to add a little sparkle to your next at-home bash and keep the little partygoers entertained for hours.
Water bead madness
Get the party started with some water bead play. We love water beads at Oh Flossy. They are so colourful and versatile, and the kids have a blast exploring with them.
You can use a kiddie pool or a large tub and fill it up with Oh Flossy Rapid Water Beads. We’d recommend four (4) packets to ensure it is filled to the brim, but you can make anything work.
Add some shaving cream for some messiness and extra fun and why not hide some treasures in the water bead pool and have a fabulously messy treasure hunt!
Create colourful snow globes with mason jars, bath bombs and glitter
Who doesn’t love a snow globe? If your party people are also arts and craft type people – we have you covered, in glittery goodness that is.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A mason jar
- A plastic figurine of your choice
- Waterproof craft glue
- Water
- Oh Flossy bath bombs
- Oh Flossy biodegradable glitter
- Waterproof craft glue
- Glycerine
We’d recommend that the adults pre-glue the figurine to the jar lid to keep little fingers safe.
Fill the jar with cold water, drop in a bath bomb and watch it fizz (Tip: you don’t need a whole bath bomb for a snow globe – break them up to make them go a bit further).
Add in some Oh Flossy biodegradable glitter – no need to hold back, use as much as you like, and don’t forget to mix and match the colours.
Finish off by adding in 3-4 drops of glycerine, screw the lid on tight (another one for the adults) and voila, you have yourself a homemade snow globe and unique keepsake for your little guests!
Face painting made easy
Who doesn’t love a face painter at a party. But did you know you can do it yourself and you don’t need to be Da Vinci to pull off some serious face masterpieces?

You can do it all using our Oh Flossy face painting stencils which even include special "it’s my birthday" and birthday cake stencils that are perfect for your little guest of honour! Just clean and wipe dry the face or skin, stick your fave stencil against the skin and dab or brush on face paint or glitter over the design space and remove. And don’t worry if everyone (inevitably … sigh) want the same design, our stencils are reusable!
And, of course… the pamper party!
Big or small, who doesn’t love to be pampered for their birthdays.
Pamper parties are booming in popularity and, for this special treat, it’s the details that count.
Think pink lemonade on arrival, high tea, rose gold and glitter bunting and fluffy robes, matched to perfection with our Oh Flossy cosmetic headbands.

We recommend that less is best when it comes to numbers at pamper parties. With a smaller group, you may have the opportunity to splurge a little on the party bags to leave your guests with a special memory (and keep away from the plastic waste that – let’s face it – usually ends up in the bin by the end of the day!)
